Ilha Bela to Nova Cidade

Today was kind of a mess. We woke up with intentions to leave Ilha Bela and find a hotel in Sao Joao Climaco (where Dayne wants to go to church tomorrow). But after spending an hour searching for something and finding nothing. We decided to just go back to William's and Paloma's house (where we stayed our first night in Brazil).
William was so nice he even offered to pick us up at a bus stop. He told us to get off the bus at a certain stop on the freeway. We asked the bus driver if that was ok and after a little discussion he agreed to let us off (those type of traveling buses don't stop at the stops along the freeway usually). When we got off we were one stop too early so we grab our bag and start walking. So here we are, two Americano's walking along the FREEWAY with luggage in tow, not the safest decision we have made but it worked. We eventually found William and he took us back to his place where they fed us a late lunch and we talked for a bit. Dayne was in so much pain from his swollen legs that we basically called it a night at 7pm. We woke up at 10:30 from William giving us blankets to sleep with. We got ready for bed and now we are going back to sleep. Lame I know, I guess we had too much fun in Ilha Bela!
Dayne's legs are really getting bad. He is in a lot of pain. They aren't itchy anymore, but he said they hurt from the pressure because his legs are so swollen. That's the main reason we are laying low tonight- he really can't stand let a lone walk for very long. Everyone thinks he must be allergic to the borrachudo bites. Each bite has turned into a massive pussing blister. He even at a fever at one point and said he felt light headed. That's when I started getting worried! He asked President Paulo for a blessing before we left Ilha Bela. Although I couldn't understand a work, I felt the spirit and felt comforted. Although I'm still worried, I hope the allergy medicine and cream he is using will help!
We are very lucky and blessed to have such great people here who are willing to help us during this time. I feel totally helpless and at the mercy of others. I definitely feel we are being watched over. I can't help but think of the situation we would be in if we were in Rio, with no one we know to help.
My favorite part of the day? Seeing William and his little brother Douglas pull up at the bus stop rescuing us! What a relief.
