It happened to ME!

Alright so this is going to be a LOONG entry. So if you have the time, buckle down! I promise to try to make it interesting for you :)
Ok so I have a little catching up to do! I'm not even sure where to start. Since my last entry I've been thinking, experiencing, and growing (in every sense of the word! My shorts keep on shrinking around the waist. Not exactly ideal for swimsuit weather!) I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to really express my feelings accurately. I'll start at the beginning...
I've offically had my first exams in Exercise Phsyiology and Kenisiology. After long days of studying and memorizing, the long wait was over. I entered the suprisingly small... 20 seats max... testing center. And you will never guess what I did! You know how theres the typical nightmare the night before you go take the ACT or SATs where you forget your pencil or it breaks or something traumatic happens? And you never think it could happen to you, right? Well don't be so nieve, IT HAPPENED TO ME! And now days it seems like everyone is pinching pennies, including the testing center! They wanted to charge me 25 cents for a pencil. I turned around walked back out the door and searched the halls for a familiar face. No one. Finally I caught eye with a nice looking girl. She could obviously see the despiration in my eyes because she knew I needed something. She generously gave me a pencil... and she even said I could keep it! Ahh what a saint! Long story short, I was able to take my tests and everything turned out great. I haven't seen the girl since, but if I happen to come across her again, I'll be sure to express my gratitude. Heck, maybe I'll even give her a bouquet of 24 sharpened pencils!
My next adventure happened at church last week. It all started when I had the desire to go to church early. I didn't plan out all the details of what that might lead to... I forgot there is a time when your just so early that you're counted as part of the early birds from which they pick the opening and closing prayer out of, or you walk in just in time. I obviously haven't mastered what time that "gray" time is when the prayers have already been chosen but its still early enough to relax and enjoy yourself before the meeting starts. Right as I walk in the doors I catch eye with a guy. I saw the same despiration in his eyes that I had felt just the day before when I was searching for a pencil. He came right towards me, calling me by name (there was no mistaking who he was talking to. It was me. I had been chosen.) He asked if I would give the closing prayer. Now of course I agreed and continued on with the meeting. It was a great sacrament that left me feeling inspired, guided, and comforted. Now, don't go thinking my adventure stopped there. No, no, no it was just beginning! I expected Sunday school to be the typical lesson... few participants and lots of clock watching from everyone (of course excluding myself from that group! :) duh.) Anyways, the first counselor came and took me out of class... I had met him before but only a casual run-in now and than, that was all. He walked me to his office. Of course I was anxiously waiting for him to cut to the chase. Finally my waiting was over. He asked the question:
1st Counselor: Would you like to speak next Sunday?
My words: Ooo uh. OF COURSE!
My thoughts: A talk?? .Blank.. (I didn't even know what to think, usually you have a hunch that it's coming... I definitely did not see this coming!)
1st Counselor: Great! We would like you to speak on Obedience, more specifically though Following the Prophet.
My words: Great! I can do that, no problem.
My thoughts: Huuuge problem, I mean I know this is a simple topic, but I haven't done this one before!
1st Counselor: Great, thanks we'd really appreciate it. One more thing, I have a calling to extend to you. Will you accept the calling to be the Sunday School Instructor?
My words: Uh yeah! I would love to!
My thoughts: Wait, like teach?
My words: Like teach?
1st Counselor: Yeah, once a month.
My words: Ok! I can do that!
My thoughts: ..blank..

So there you go! Time your entry to church wisely. 3 things in one day, how exciting! God was really looking down on me :)

This last Friday night me and Robin were feeling extra adventurous! We wanted to do something FUN on Saturday, there was no way we were waisting a beautiful Satuday in Hawaii. We planned it all out, we would wake up early and be at the bus stop at 6:30 in the morning to ride to the stadium to experience the SWAP meet. Too bad we didn't plan it out good enough... the bus didn't show until 7!! What a great way to start off our day. This was foreshadowing, we just didn't know it yet. Just before 7:00, I see my roommate drive by... I forgot she was going to the SWAP meet too and her uncle was driving her. She called and asked if we would like a ride, and of course we jumped at the offer! So instead of a 2 hour bus ride, we had a 45 min car ride. Needless to say, it was amazing.

The swap meet was awesome! Many different shops. Ok actually, they were all different but for the most part, sold the same stuff! It was fun though! It was hotter than heck, but fun! We weren't being very smart though... we weren't drinking any water and hadn't had anything to eat (contributing to the disasterous afternoon that i will address shortly) After about 5 hours of walking, bargaining, and LOTS of sweating, we called it good and got on the bus to head to Waikiki where we thought it would be nice to rest and enjoy some more sun. We thought wrong. Within the first hour of being there (luckily, after some fun pictures!) The gates of hell opened... Robin starting feeling really really sick and after one trip to the bathroom she thought she was ok. SIKE, she started throwing up... ON THE BEACH! Poor girl! She went back over the bathroom and got in some shade while I cleaned up our stuff. We sat for ahwile in the shade drinking water, cooling off, and eating what little sounded good (a piece of bread and left over hot trail mix. Gross). Once we saw a window where we felt we could get back on the bus to head home... I realized she had passed the uneasy stomach feeling to me. I rushed to the bathroom and the rest is history. After awhile of taking it easy we jumped on the bus and headed home.
Sunday morning came and I recieved a call from the 1st counselor informing me that he had misinformed me. I was to give my talk next Sunday instead!
Anyways... this is it for now! Love you guys!
